CORRIE LAVELLE | THE COMPOSITE SERIES

The artwork that hangs on your wall isn’t just a collection of pigment, wax, or brushstrokes. It’s a living piece that has the ability to change your life.

In this short documentary, Seattle-based encaustic artist Corrie LaVelle shares how her Composite Series came to be, and how it changed her life for the better. This project began with a series of phone calls, meet ups, and a pre-interview to learn more about the Composite Series and discover what Corrie wanted to say about it. The main ideas uncovered were used as a compass to guide the direction of the video. Every creative decision, from location to lighting to music and everything in between, was made through the lens of how it would serve the story. The final deliverables consisted of one hero video, three cutdowns, and a still image library.
